


Objective
The project 4500+ has dealt with increasing the capability of multilayer pipes. Fundamental for this was the question of whether an augmentation of technology is still possible here, or whether the technical limits have to be considered as exhausted in this area. If new developments were not possible anymore, the manufacturers now experiencing little trust on the market would be able to improve their situation fundamentally, because the user can no longer distinguish between cheap articles and brand name quality. This is to give a clear answer here: WRW have succeeded in increasing the standard in the pre-series by a factor of 10.
Result:
In long time rupture tests pipes made of a newly developed material withstood almost 5000 hours at 95 °C and a pressure of 30 bar. This proves that their load capacity exceeds the maximum values achieved up to now by a factor of 10. This result defines a significant lead over manufacturers who will not be able to realize such performances due to their machine technology or competence.
Advantages in practice
As a manufacturer of brand name pipes, WRW is now in a position to offer a considerably higher safety potential to the users. On the basis of the performance data, the user can easily distinguish this technology from standard products. This definitely proves the topic of long-term safety and trust in the used brand name.
